Bargaining continues with Kroger in Toledo; Contracts extended
Sunday, August 08, 2010

Bargaining continued on Saturday, August 7, 2010, for all contracts with Kroger in Toledo.  The Company presented us with proposed agreements for Grocery/Non-‐Food, and for Meats; we continue to bargain the issues contained therein.  Both parties are working diligently to reach a resolution on non-‐economic issues.  It is our priority to make the contracts easier to understand, and to enforce.

Local 75 is preparing an economic proposal including wages, health care, and pension.  Our priority continues to be preserving your benefits.  There was further discussion regarding the Meat Pension, but the Company continues to ask the Meat Departments for greater sacrifices than are required by Grocery and Non-‐Food members to comply with the Pension Protection Act.  There are still significant issues outstanding.

The parties have contact FMCS and we expect them to be involved throughout the duration of bargaining.

Members in Toledo will remain on a contract extension.  All ratification voting scheduled for Thursday, August 12 has been cancelled because negotiations are ongoing.

As always, should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your Union Representative, or visit us online at www.ufcw75.org.
