Toledo Kroger Bargaining Update
Thursday, August 05, 2010

Bargaining continued on Thursday, August 5, 2010, for all contracts with Kroger in Toledo.  We reviewed and exchanged language proposals for Grocery and Non-Food members.  Although a Tentative Agreement was reached regarding the Clerk Pension, the Meat Pension and many other economic and non-economic issues remain unresolved.

There is still much work to be done in order to secure contracts for our members in the Toledo Area that bolster livable wages, affordable health care, and comprehensive health care and retirement income security.  Not surprisingly, the Company has brought to the bargaining table several regressive health care proposals that would require members to pay more for less benefits.  Also, not surprisingly, your bargaining team is resisting unreasonable “wants” from the Company.

Bargaining resumes tomorrow morning, August 6.

As always, should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your Union Representative, or visit us online at www.ufcw75.org.
